Western India is home to a variety of wildlife species, including tiger, leopard, bear and deer and antelope. Some of the national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in Western India that are known for their wildlife include:
Gir National Park: located in Gujarat, it is known for its Asiatic lion’s population
Kutch Desert Wildlife Sanctuary: located in Gujarat, it is known for its population of Indian wild ass, the desert fox, and the desert cat among other animals.
Ranthambore National Park: located in Rajasthan, it is known for its population of tiger, leopard, sloth bear and other animals such as sambar, chital, nilgai, and wild boar.
Sariska Tiger Reserve: located in Rajasthan, it is famous for tiger and leopard.
Keoladeo National Park: located in Rajasthan, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is known for its large variety of bird life, as well as its population of sambar, chital, nilgai, and wild boar.
Western India is also home to many species of birds, such as the Great Indian Bustard, Bengal Florican, the Lesser Flamingo, and the Sarus Crane.
